Dreaming Up Our Peaceful Farm
Dan, an engineer, builder, and veteran of the US Navy, built his career in corporate America eventually becoming a Vice President for a Fortune 100 company. Along the way he always had a strong entrepreneurial spirit and vision, while Lisa was the dreamer. She had always wanted a horse farm to raise animals and share with others about the care and healthy animal life.
Our family set forth on a journey to create Disenhouse Farm. Our vision was to build a special place for creating enduring memories with our three sons Nick, Sam, and Nolan. We were also driven by a desire to build a lasting legacy, one that would not only reflect a deep-rooted passion for sharing and showcasing farm life, but also would serve as a beacon of happiness for many generations. We sought to showcase the beauty of nature and farm living, coupled with architecturally pleasing and modern facilities.
Dan and Lisa started by taking advantage of the guest house on the property and turned that space into a successful short-term rental, that is run and operated by Lisa. Shortly thereafter, we purchased our first Scottish Highland bull calf to become the herd sire for the new fold. Over the next few years the fold has grown to 15 cows, and in 2023 the farm was able to witness its first 2 calves born. Along the way, the farm has grown its equine side adding ponies and miniature donkeys for farm tours and weddings.

Today, Disenhouse Farm is the culmination of our original vision and dreams—a place where guests can share a love of nature, escape the everyday grind, and find enjoyment in the simpler things.
Our guests can rent the charming short-term rental, reserve the barn for weddings and events, or simply meet with Lisa to just share in the beauty and life of a farmer.
Disenhouse Farm is a modern working farm raising Scottish Highland Cows, Texas Longhorn cows, mini donkeys and mini horses, while offering a breathtaking backdrop for life’s celebrations. Choose from a variety of experiences to create lasting memories as soon as you step through the farm gates.
Our dream isn’t done yet, as the farm is ever evolving, and we are continuously learning. Our profound hope is that current and future generations will see the beauty in the experience and that it may spark an ember inside to burn for a lifetime.
